Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) 2018 Exam Schedule: Important Dates, Online Application, Admit Card & Other Details for Group D Jobs
A total of 91,307 vacancies have been declared for several posts at the Railways. Here is a brief up about all the important things that candidates need to keep in mind for RRB recruitment.
In a major relief for aspirants, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has decided to accept online applications for Group D jobs till March 31, as opposed to the earlier deadline of March 12. After the applications are processed, the schedule of examinations, which are likely to be conducted in April-May, will be released. A total of 91,307 vacancies have been declared for several posts at the Railways. The age limit specifically for various level of exams is comparatively decreased. In case of Group D exams for general category, the upper age limit has been fixed at 30 years from 28 years whereas for reserved categories there is a relaxation. Here is a brief up about all the important things that candidates need to keep in mind for RRB recruitment.
Important Dates for RRB Group D 2018
The Railway Recruitment Group D 2018 online application has begun on February 10 and closed on March 12.
RRB Group D exam pattern 2018
The candidates appearing for the RRB Group D 2018 has to undergo two stages of examination. The mode of exam consists of a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by passing a Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
The questions in the RRB computer-based test are asked from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness on Current Affairs. Aspirants need to answer a total of 100 questions within the set time limit which will be 90 minutes.
It is important to clear the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for the candidates but the norms differ for male and female candidates as per the RRB 2018.
Male candidates should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes and in one chance without putting the weight down. Also, they are expected to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in a single chance. On the other hand, female candidates must lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down. Again, they must run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds at the first go.
Railway Group D Amit Card
Aspirants who applied for the RRB Group D examinations, will be provided with Admit Card. But it is important to note that the admit card for CBT and PET will be issued separately. To download the admit card, candidates should keep their registration number, roll number, date of birth and password ready. The admit cards are not yet released. Applicants are recommended to keep an eye on the board’s official website to stay updated.
Aspirants who have qualified 12th exam under any recognized board or have an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) degree are eligible to apply for Group D vacancies.
