Railway Group C & D Recruitment 2018: Over 1.5 Crore Aspirants Registered for 89,000 Jobs, Last Day of Form Submission is March 31

New Delhi, March 14:  Whopping 1.5 crore job aspirants across the nation have registered for 89000 group C, D jobs in Indian Railways. In its mega recruitment drive, the Railways aim to fill 89000 jobs in group C and D categories. As per reports,  over one-and-a-half crore candidates have applied so far and the number is believed to be rising with each passing day. “Primary registration is done by candidates with their name and address. The next step is the application where they fill up other details and pay the fee,” a senior official was quoted by PTI.

The Railway Recruitment Board had invited applications in March for over 89,000 posts. Reports state that about 26,502 vacancies were open for group C and 62,907 vacancies for group D. It must be noted that the last date for submission of applications is March 31. Earlier, the last day of submission was March 12.

The Railways have declared a total of 91,307 vacancies for several posts. The age limit specifically for various level of exams is comparatively decreased. It may be noted that in case of Group D exams for general category, the upper age limit has been fixed at 30 years from 28 years whereas for reserved categories there is a relaxation.

In the preliminary registration process of Railway Recruitment Board application form, every aspirant has to provide educational qualification along with other details such as name, father’s name, date of birth, community, email ID and mobile number.

As per reports, the Railway Recruitment Board will tentatively conduct the exam during April and May, 2018. After releasing the notification for the vacancies, the railways made many changes with respect to criteria, age and educational qualification, after protests by job aspirants in several states.
