Much to students’ relief, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the mock test sample paper for long-form numerical type questions at the official website; jeemain.nta.nic.in. These type of questions for the first time will be introduced in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main, which is scheduled to be held from January 6 to January 11, 2020. The Numerical Value Type (NVT) questions will be featured in the upcoming JEE Main, for which students only have two months to prepare. The conducting body has provided only five questions in the sample paper, so to give students an idea about the NTA JEE 2020 Main exam. JEE Main 2020 Schedule: Exam And Results Date For January, April Session.
NTA will ask five long-form of NVT questions from 2020 onwards for JEE Main. Each of the questions will be of four marks. But unlike the objective type questions, numerical questions will not have any negative marks. With the introduction of new paper pattern in the JEE Main exam, educationists recommend that it would likely bring down the cut-off of the entrance exam, and hence the participating candidates for JEE Advanced exam. The move has been adapted after universities, students and the exam conducting bodies stated that only objective-type questions are not the right way to assess the students and urged for “holistic assessment system.”
NTA conducted the online application for JEE Main in September, 2019. The admit cards for the exam will be available for download from December 6, 2019. And after the JEE Main 2020 exam, the result will be declared on January 31, 2020. The online registration for the April session is scheduled from February 7 to March 7, 2020.
