The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had declared the 10th board exam result 2019 on May 6 and 91.1% candidates passed the examination. Two days before the declaration of the result, a shocking incident of suicide made headlines. A CBSE class 10 girl from Noida, reportedly took her life, fearing failure in this year’s board exam. Identified as Sharmishtha Raut in reports, CBSE result revealed that she has scored 70% marks in CBSE 10th board exam 2019. Sharmishtha was fond of painting and had always been a bright student. She won many prizes in academics and painting. Her father clarified that the family never pressured her, to score high marks in the board examination. On the day of class 10 English exam, Sharmishtha had been disturbed, fearing her skill to be able to manage the essay-type answers in the given time. As CBSE was all set to declare its class 10 board exam result 2019, Sharmishtha hanged herself in the ceiling fan inside her residence in Noida. CBSE announced the results on Monday and as per officials, more than 180,000 students appeared in this year’s board exam at 4,974 centres across the country. There was a significant rise in the pass percentage of 91.1% this year as compared to 2018. Trivandrum (99.85%), Chennai (99%), Ajmer (95.89%) are top three regions. Besides, a total of 13 students are sharing the first position, 25 in second and 59 secured third rank in CBSE class 10 board exam 2019.
