NEET 2020: Registration Starts From 4 PM Today on ntaneet.nic.in; Burka, Hijab, Kirpan Allowed For Medical Aspirants

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) to be conducted on May 3, 2020.

New Delhi, December 2: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) to be conducted on May 3, 2020. According to the notification available on the official website ntaneet.nic.in, registration for NEET 2020 would begin from 4 pm today online. The NTA has also decided to let NEET aspirants wear burka or hijab and carry kirpan while appearing in the examination. NEET: NTA Mulls Conducting Medical Entrance Exam Twice From 2021, Says Report.

The NEET 2020 is conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental and other colleges in India. The examination fee can be submitted by January 1. Corrections in applications will be done between January 15 and 31. The admit cards will be available on ntaneet.nic.in on March 27. Students appearing for the NEET 2020 will be allowed to wear burka or hijab and carry kirpan. Such candidates will have to report at the designated centres at least an hour before the gate closing time. Candidates carrying any assistive devices for medical reasons will have to inform the NTA prior to the examination and seek permission. This year, the NTA will use artificial intelligence (AI) to detect attempts of impersonation/fraud.

With the eight functioning All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry joining the NEET 2020, the entrance examination gets bigger this time. According to new rules by the NTA, the exam will begin at 2 pm and the gates will close at 12:30 pm. Candidates will also have to submit their postcard size photographs and class X and XII roll numbers and certificates.
