Mumbai, June  4: In a recent announcement, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that the government has decided to reduce half of the syllabus of NCERT because he feels it is unnecessarily cramped. According to a PTI report, the minister further said that the proposed amendment to the Right to Education Act is expected to be tabled before Parliament by the month end.

The Minister further highlighted that education is not just memorising and putting it down to answer sheet. He stressed on the importance of a child to have physical education, life skill and value education.

Reportedly, the ministry has received around 37,000 suggestions on classes, lessons and subjects from teachers and others. The intention behind the decision is to affect the change in the system, so that a student gets time for various activities and not just blindly mugging up.
