Mumbai, September 5: President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday conferred the National Teachers' Award 2023 to 75 selected awardees in Delhi. President Murmu conferred the prestigious award to 75 awardees in the national capital on the occasion of Teachers' Day 2023. Today, September 5 is celebrated as Teachers' Day. Speaking at the event, President Droupadi Murmu said that when teachers appreciate or encourage or punish, students remember everything.
"If they are punished to improve them, students realise it with time. So, I believe that giving them love is more important than giving them education...Our Education Policy gives priority to connecting with Indian culture and pride," President Murmu said. As per a government release, each award carries a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs 50,000 and a silver medal. While the event saw a huge turnout from teachers nationwide, let us see who won the National Teachers' Award 2023 this year.

Notably, all the awardee teachers came from diverse educational backgrounds. A total of 50 teachers from schools, 13 from higher education, and 12 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship were awarded the National Teachers' Award 2023. President Droupadi Murmu also said that teachers build the future of the nation. She further stated that quality education is considered the fundamental right of every child, and the role of teachers is the most important in achieving these goals.
