Mumbai, March 20: Mumbai University on Tuesday decided to postpone dates of 76 papers due to the Lok Sabha elections 2019. The exams were scheduled to take place over the next two months. Meanwhile, 27 papers of various streams were also rescheduled. In a press release, the university said, “Considering the Lok Sabha election dates, Mumbai University has postponed the dates of commencement of 76 examination and 27 examinations /papers have been rescheduled.” Suhas Raghunath Pednekar Appointed as Mumbai University Vice Chancellor.
Due to the two phases of elections in Mumbai and in its suburbs, 30 papers of commerce and management, 17 papers of Science and Technology and 29 papers of Interdisciplinary faculty have been postponed. The university will soon announce the dates commencement of the examination on the website along with the time table. Colleges affiliated to the university are located in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Sindhudurg, Konkan and Ratnagiri. The elections in these cities will take place on April 23 and April 29. Meanwhile, Maharashtra will go for polls in four phases. In the state, the general elections will be held on April 11, April 18, April 23 and April 29, and the counting of votes will take place on May 23.
