The Maharashtra International Education Board (MIEB) will be commenced by the state government this year, confirms the Education Minister,Vinod Tawde. MIEB will contain the curriculum in same respect is as it is formed in Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The state education ministry is likely to launch 13 Zilla Parishad Schools under the fresh program. Vinod Tawde says, “We’ll take students from local to global & known to unknown.” The teachers will have to undertake special training and interview rounds before getting selected and employed by these schools.

According to a report of The Asian Age, the ministry will introduce the Zilla Parishad schools on June 15, 2018. As of now, the selected schools under newly constructed MIEB will be from Kindergarten to class 3 but by June 2019, nearly 100 schools would be operated.

MIEB To Come into Effect from This Year! 

“Neither English nor Marathi will be made the first language. All languages will be given equal preference in these schools,” assured Mr. Tawde. With its success, the students will get an opportunity to study curriculum of international standards focussing on life skills, experimental learning, self-reliance, self-sufficiency, regional languages including English. With International standards, the admission criterias and fee structure will remain the same.

So far, nearly 70 teachers have been selected for 22 days training program and the selection procedures are on. The curriculum is formulated within framework of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) by a governing council appointed by the education ministry. The infrastructure of these schools will be done keeping in mind to provide the accurate study environment and program to meet international standards.
