The students all across the nation are preparing themselves for the entrance examinations to be held in the coming year for the 2019-20 academic session. Almost all the coveted conducting bodies have released the competitive exam dates such as for the Engineering and Medical courses. The primary medical entrance exams in the nation are: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), All India Institutes of Medical Sciences for Bachelor of Medicines and Bachelor of Surgery (AIIMS MBBS), NEET PG, NEET MDS, AIIMS PG, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) PG, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) and Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE). NEET UG 2019: The newly-built National Testing Agency (NTA) for the first time will conduct the NEET UG 2019 examinations for all the medical aspirants. The class 12 students with a minimum of 50 per cent marks can apply for the entrance examinations at the official website; nta.ac.in. For the upcoming year, NEET UG will be conducted on May 5 at various exam centres across the nation. At recent, the Supreme Court had even extended the age limit, which states that students of 25 years of age or above can also appear in NEET UG exam 2019. NEET PG 2019: For the upcoming session, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) will conduct the NEET PG 2019 examinations on January 6. All the medical graduates, who are interested in studying postgraduate courses in the medical fields will appear for the entrance test. The applications are already over, and those who fall under the eligibility criteria as set by NBE will get the NEET PG Admit Card 2019 from December 30, 2018, on their official website; nbe.edu.in.

AIIMS MBBS 2019: Students interested in studying at bachelor’s in the medical and surgical course, will participate in the AIIMS MBBS 2019 examinations which are scheduled to be held on May 25 and May 26 in two shifts. The applications for the first time will be held in two phases—Basic and Main registrations. Basic registrations have begun already which will continue till January 3, and the formalities of the final process will continue till March 2019. Those who clear AIIMS MBBS, will be enrolled into the MBBS program offered at 14 AIIMS in the country.

AIIMS PG 2019: The New Delhi based AIIMS will conduct the entrance exams for admission to the PG courses. The first round of exams has already been done. Now, according to the information brochure of AIIMS PG 2019, those who have qualified the first round, the result of which was released on November 23, are eligible to appear in the second round. The open round of counselling will be conducted on February 22, 2019.

JIPMER 2019: The registration process for coveted JIPMER MBBS entrance exam 2019 will begin from March 6 and the last date of the process on April 12. For the next session, JIPMER MBBS entrance exam is scheduled to take place on June 2, 2019. On the basis of merit scored in the entrance exam, candidates will be able to secure 200 MBBS seats offered by JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal. JIPMER has uploaded the schedule for the entire entrance exam details on the official website; jipmer.puducherry.gov.in. As the entrance exam has time, the eligibility criteria and syllabus will be released on the site soon.

PGIMER 2019: The national level examination is conducted by PGIMER, Chandigarh for students who want to study postgraduate courses in the medical fields. All the candidates who are included in the PGIMER merit list will be called for various rounds of counselling which is conducted in three rounds—first, second and third. The candidates need to secure a minimum of 55 per cent for qualifying in the entrance examination.

FMGE 2019: The National Board of Examination (NBE) has already conducted the FMGE 2019 exam on December 14, 2018. The FMGE screening test will be conducted only for those Indian nationals who have a medical degree from a foreign nation and wants to practise medicine in India. It is held twice a year—June and December. As for the upcoming session, the examination is over; now the students wait for the results to be announced which is expected to be out in January.
