Maharashtra MUHS to Conduct Theory Exams 2018 Under Strict CCTV to Prevent Cheating
Above 51,000 students of various health science courses in the state will appear for their winter theory exam under strict surveillance.
The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) is all set to conduct the winter exam which will begin from November 27. After relaxing the strict dress code in the state medical entrance examinations, the University has now decided to install CCTV cameras, and the recordings will be preserved which can serve as a proof for any malpractice inside the examination hall. Reportedly, above 51,000 students of various health science courses in the state will appear for their winter theory exam under strict surveillance. According to a TOI report, the officials of MUHS confirmed the move and the CCTV footage would be used as a proof against those who copy or practice other unfair means to harm the sanctity of the examination. Besides, similar to the lines of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the varsity has also introduced the concept of a central room to keep all the belongings of examinees. Now that the students can wear their traditional dresses, those who wear long scarf or burkha will be checked prominently only by female supervisors. Following suggestions from stakeholders and looking at the past experience, the MUHS is taking steps to adopt a fully online format of the exam. Hi-tech security measures like CCTV is one of the actions taken this year to avoid copying incidents during the examination. The students will have to reach the exam centre an hour before the commencement of the theory papers.
