Maharashtra Board Results 2018: MSBSHSE HSC Exam Cheaters to Face 3 Years of Punishment
An inquiry committee proposed the punishment in its report which has been submitted to the Mumbai division of MSBSHSE.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) conducted its examination for class 10th and class 12th in the month of March 2018 across the state. The exam was conducted under stringent measures to control any malpractices during the examination. Looking into various complain of mass cheating and unfair markings, flying squads consisting of officials and teachers were initiated by Maharashtra Board this year during viva and practical exams. However, many students were caught to cheat in the MSBSHSE Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination. Those who were involved in the practice might have to face 3 years of punishment from the board.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, 58 students were caught cheating during HSC examinations 2018 and could be debarred from reappearing for 3 years and could even extend till 5 years. An inquiry committee proposed the punishment in its report which has been submitted to the Mumbai division of MSBSHSE. However, the punishment will depend on the sort of offence candidates have committed.
A MSBSHSE official was quoted in the same report saying, “This year, 57 students were caught copying, while one was carrying his mobile phone, with study material on it, in the exam hall.” The official further added, “While some of them will not be allowed to reappear for a year, others may be debarred for three years.”
The report further reveals that in 2017, a total of 18 HSC and SSC students who were caught cheating through mobile phone, were not permitted to sit for the board exam for 5 years. On the other hand, in the same year 42 HSC and SSC candidates who were copying during the exam were not allowed to sit for re-examination in July.
Meanwhile, the board has not yet revealed its result announcement date for SSC and HSC exams 2018; speculations are still on creating panic among students. Some reports are suggesting that the HSC results will be out in the last week of this month and HSC could be released in the beginning of June 2018. This year, nearly 17.51 lakh candidates sat for HSC examinations whereas, 14 lakhs appeared in the SSC exams. Students and their concerned parents are recommended to keep their calm and visit the official website of MSBSHSE as the Board will update about the same soon on the homepage.
