The situation continues to worsen in Kerala as citizens battle with a resurgent monsoon. Cities and villages submerged by floodwaters. The Department of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) has released a notification and stated the postponement of DHSE Kerala 2018 first year improvement examination which was scheduled for tomorrow, August 17, 2018. However, the date for the reschedule will be announced later. As of now, it is only reported that the first-year compartment exam has been deferred due to the ongoing flood situation in Kerala. All the candidates are recommended to read the official notice available on the website, dhsekerala.gov.in to confirm the same. Any notice related to the fresh date of tomorrow’s exam will only be announced on DHSE website. Hence, the students are recommended to keep a tab on the site and not entertain any rumour. The department is yet to publish the date for its reschedule. Those who could not clear the regular board exams or fail in one or two subjects appear in the improvement exam. This has been initiated for students so that they do not have to lose a year.
Due to continuous rainfall, many deaths have been reported. Out of 14 districts in Kerala, 11 are facing the mayhem created by heavy downpouring. The state which is facing the worst floods in history is on red alert causing schools, colleges, railway stations, and Kochin airport and metro stations are shut down until further notice.
