JNU to Organise Convocation For PhD Students, its Second Ever After a Gap of 46 years

All research scholars, who have completed the requirements for the Ph.D. degree, between 01.01.2017 and 30.06.2018 are eligible for the conferment of Ph.D. degree at the Convocation.

New Delhi, July 7:  Jawahar Lal Nehru University, popularly known as JNU, will be holding a convocation ceremony for the PhD students in its second ever convocation on 8 August this year. The only time the premier university ever held a convocation before the planned August 8 convocation was in the year 1972, 46 years ago. The chief guest at the first and only convocation so far was the legendary Hindi film actor Balraj Sahni.

It indeed is a special moment for the students of JNU and especially those of PhD for whom the convocation is being planned. News agency ANI tweeted about the news as well:

The University on its website has mentioned that, "All research scholars, who have completed the requirements for the Ph.D. degree, between 01.01.2017 and 30.06.2018 are eligible for the conferment of Ph.D. degree at the Convocation." Students, who have qualified for the award of Doctoral Degree, need to register only through online mode at the following link- https://www.jnu.ac.in/convocation.
