Srinagar, October 30: Amid the partial restrictions still active in the newly carved out Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Directorate of Information, Government of J&K on Wednesday informed that 48,000 students of Kashmir division appeared in Class 12 annual exams of J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE). It further stated that Around 99.5 percent students appeared in the examination for which fool-proof arrangements were made.
Informing about the latest development, Directorate of Information said, "J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) annual regular examination of higher secondary (class 12th) commenced, today. Around 48,000 students of Kashmir division appeared in the examination." Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh to Become Two Separate Union Territories From Midnight As Bifurcation Comes Into Effect From October 31.
It further added, "Around 99.5% students appeared in the examination for which fool-proof arrangements were made. Flying squads were constituted for monitoring the examination. Adequate security measures in & around the examination centres were also taken."
Apart from this, the DoE informed that Director School Education Kashmir -- Mohd Younis Malik --inspected various board examination centres in Anantnag, Pulwama and Kulgam districts on Wednesday. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements for smooth conduct of the examinations, the DoE added. It is to be known that these exams were postponed by the administration after the Narendra Modi government abrogated Article 370 from the state. Following this, restrictions were imposed in the state, and all communications were clamped down.
