NTA conducted the JEE Main Paper 1 and Paper 2 examinations in the second and first weeks of April, which was the second edition of the entrance test. More than 9 lakh candidates appeared in JEE Main II 2019 across many examination centres. The official NTA’s data also states that in both the examinations, 72% of candidates were common candidates as of January, 2019. This means that more than 7 lakh candidates appeared in both JEE Main exams held this year.

JEE Main 2019 is conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes offered at NITs, IIITs, SFTIs and CFTIs.
