The last day to register online for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2019 is today, March 7. All the engineering aspirants who are yet to fill in the required details are advised to do the same by visiting the official websites; jeemain.nic.in, nta.ac.in. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the second edition of JEE Main entrance exam 2019 from April 7 to April 20, 2019. Again, the results for the examination will be announced on April 30. Candidates are advised to read the detailed instructions as prescribed by NTA before filling the applications. The JEE Main 2019 guidelines include mode of examination, age limit, qualifying exam and all other essential details about the entrance exam.
JEE Main was earlier conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). From 2019, newly-built NTA is holding the national-level entrance exam. The first session of JEE Main was held in January and the second will be conducted in April at various centres across the centres. JEE Main 2019 Mode of Exam
For the first time this year onwards, JEE Main will be a computer-based examination. The paper will be available in three languages—English, Hindi and Gujarati. Candidates can select the mode of the language of their question papers while filling the online application form. Apart from the mode of the language of the question paper, candidates can select for the course in any college or language mode.
JEE Main 2019 Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for the JEE Main 2019 exam. However, the official notification by NTA for online applications states students, “who have cleared class 12 exam in 2017, 2018 and appearing for in 2019,” can apply for this year’s entrance exam. Besides, colleges which grant admission on the basis of JEE Main score have upper age limits.
JEE Main 2019 Qualifying Exam
JEE Main is the qualifying exam for entrance; there is also a minimum eligibility requirement to appear for the examination. Apart from class 12 exam, students who have cleared the two-year pre-university exam, the final exam of joint services wing of NDA, senior secondary school exam of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are also eligible to apply for JEE Main 2019.
Candidates should note that they need to file just one application form per subject. In case of multiple applications, they will lose their candidature as NTA will reject such applications. JEE Main 2019 exam is the qualifying entrance test for JEE Advanced as well for those who aspire to study at the IITs. The shortlisting of candidates for JEE Advanced 2019 will be done on the basis of the JEE Main 2019 rank.
