JEE Main 2019 April Exam: Online Application Correction Window, EWS Category Registrations From Today; Know What Can Be Modified at jeemain.nic.in

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the second edition of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) which is slated to be held from April 6 to April 20, 2019. Now that the JEE Main 2019 April exam application process is complete, NTA will open its window for candidates to make corrections on them if any. According to the release notification, the JEE Main 2019 correction window will begin from today, March 11 and candidates can edit their wrongly inserted inputs till March 15, 2019, by visiting the official website; jeemain.nic.in. Besides, the candidates can also select the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category and register for the same from today. Apart from the JEE Main 2019 application correction window, candidates can also apply under the EWS category as per the certificate issued by the Competent Authority may mention such category in the forms online between March 11 to 15, 2019. Note that the EWS category certificate is not to be uploaded in the JEE Main portal, but the same will be needed at the time of filling up the application for JEE Advanced. What Can Be Corrected on JEE Main 2019 Exam Application Form?
1. In the application form, students can change the choice of papers by opting for Paper 1, Paper-II or both.
2. The personal details such as name, date of birth and state of eligibility can also be changed if entered incorrectly.
3. The academic details entered while filling JEE Main application form 2019 can also be modified.
4. The medium of examination can also be changed; from English to Hindi/ Gujarati and vice versa.
5. If the candidates wish, they can also change their category.
All the JEE Main second edition exam 2019 candidates may also note that no fee will be refunded to students in case of changing from general to reserved category. The students will instead have to pay a balance fee in case of switching from reserved to general category. As roughly estimated by various media outlets, about 9.54 lakh candidates have registered for the JEE Main 2019 April exam, out of which 6.36 lakhs are repeaters. JEE Main 2019 April exam results would be announced tentatively by April 30, 2019.
