The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced the correction process for candidates who have applied for JEE Main 2018 to be held in the month of April. Students who have entered any wrong or incomplete information, can log in with their credentials and correct the same. The link for data correction will be available from 9th to 22nd January 2018 at jeemain.nic.in. Besides, correcting the data in the application, candidates can also upload a fresh image if the earlier image has had any evident issue. Aspirants are also suggested to ensure that the updating is done as per the guidelines and the prescribed format in order to avoid rejections. The corrections must be done by 22nd January, as any request for correction shall not be entertained after the said date.

Candidates would need to pay an additional fee for corrections that can be processed online via credit card/ debit card or e-wallets or offline via e-challans at Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Banks during the above-mentioned timeline. Although candidates can change their information including a photograph, however, they will not be able to change the mode of examination from computer-based to pen and paper mode. The correction of application is just a one-time facility, extended to the candidates to avoid any hardship on them; aspirants should be careful during the process.

CBSE will conduct JEE Main on 8th April 2018 in pen and paper mode, while the computer-based exam is scheduled for 15th and 16th April 2018 across the country. The entrance test is for students seeking admissions to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CTFIs). This year nearly, 2.25 lakh students applied for computer-based examination. It is forty-five thousand more than the number of candidates appearing for exam previous year. Only 9.25 lakh students will take the examination in the paper-pen format in 2018, which is nearly one lakh less than the last year.
