New Delhi, October 13: The JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Date was announced on Friday on the official website of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced jeeadv.ac.in. The JEE Advanced 2019 will be held on May 19, 2019, Sunday, for candidates seeking admissions to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) across India. The notification on the website says that the examination will be conducted in fully computer-based test mode. More information on the examination will be put up on the website soon. This year, over 1.6 lakh students had appeared for the JEE Advanced Exam 2018. Pranav Goyal from Roorkee zone was declared the All-India topper, whereas, Meenal Parakh, who secured the All-India sixth rank, was the topper among girls. Earlier this year, the government had recently forwarded proposals in a move to improvise the JEE Advanced. But ideas on the tables mooted by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Council meeting to reform and scrap JEE Advanced were unanimously rejected by the IITs.
The IITs said that they will continue to offer the Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programmes, and there will further be no change in the way the JEE Advanced is conducted. JEE Advanced regulates admission to all IITs and is also considered as one of the toughest entrance exams in the country.
