New Delhi, May 23: The official website of Jamia Millia Islamia University was hacked thrice in the last 24 Hours. Close to midnight on Tuesday, the site displayed a black screen, which showed several messages as such- "Stuck by Faisal 1337", "Pakistan Zindabad", "Your Website Stamped By & Pak Cyber Attackers Team". The website was restored within minutes
Earlier in the day, the site was hacked with the message-"Happy Birthday Pooja. Your love," but was restored later the same morning. At around 9 pm, another message was posted on the website of the university, which read- "Sorry, I Have a Boyfriend. ~ Pooja," suggesting that the website was hacked once again. Till now, no group or individual has claimed any responsibility for the attack. However, it raises a big question on security system of the country.
There have been several instances of government websites getting hacked in recent times. According to 2016 data, more than 199 government websites were hacked in India, as reported by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Parliament. From 2013-2016, more than 700 sites under the Indian government were hacked.
