The India Post Office has begun the recruitment process for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS). As per the job notification, a total of 10,066 vacancies has been announced in this year’s GDS recruitment drive. The job notice is for 10th pass candidates securing a passing marks in Math and English. The GDS recruitment 2019 jobs include posts such as Dak Sevak, Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) in Postal Circles of different states in India. India Post Gramin Dak Sevak Recruitment 2019: Eligibility

  • Candidates must be in the age between 18 to 40 years to apply for the GDS posts.
  • The current openings in India Post Office GDS are for candidates who are 10th pass. They must have class 10 passing certificate of any recognised board, with passing marks in Math and English.
  • It is important to note here that merit will be given to the candidates who had qualified the class 10 exam in the first attempt without compartment or supplementary.
  • The candidates should at least have basic computer knowledge. They will have to submit the certificate of Basic Computer Training Course of a minimum 60 days from any computer training institute to prove their skill.
  • They should also know how to ride a cycle. The knowledge of riding a scooter or motorcycle will also be considered eligible.

India Post Gramin Dak Sevak Recruitment 2019: Registration Process

Eligible candidates apply for the India Post GDS 2019 recruitment by visiting its official website. The candidates can fill in the application till September 4 including the payment of fees. Female candidates do not have to pay any exam fee. A mode of offline payment in this recruitment process through any Head Post Office is also allowed.

India Post Office will recruit the eligible GDS based on the automated generated merit list. Only those who fall under the eligibility criteria will be considered for the appointment as Gramin Dak Sevaks.
