IIM CAT 2018 Result Declared Online Today at iitmcat.ac.in; What’s Next?
CAT 2018 qualified candidates must note that the scores will be valid till December 31, 2019.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta today announced the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 results. All the candidates who have appeared in the November 25 examination, can check their scorecard online at iitmcat.ac.in. If we go by reports, this year, over two lakh candidates have participated in the coveted entrance exam conducted for the admissions to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs offered by various IIMs and other management institutes like FMS, SPJIMR, MDI Gurgaon, IMT Ghaziabad, JBIMS Mumbai etc. Now, as the scores are available online, the shortlisted candidates are preparing themselves for the next stage of the selection procedure.
The IIM Calcutta authorities had released the answer key, and corresponding objection form on December 9, 2018, and the final result is being released after carefully going through all the objections received. What’s Next?
Since the CAT result, 2018 is declared, IIMs and other management institutes will begin their selection procedure which comprises a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI). All the IIMs have their separate selection procedure. Candidates who qualify the final stages will be able to secure their seats for the two-year MBA program at top B-schools.
CAT 2018 scores mentioned in the scorecard are not just the sum of marks secured by a candidate on all the three sections, but it is the final marks obtained after normalisation process. The official CAT notification reads, “The Normalization process shall adjust for location and scale differences of score distributions across different forms. After normalization across different forms, the scores shall be further normalized across different sections. The scaled scores obtained by this process shall be converted into percentiles for purposes of shortlisting.”
