ICAI CA CPT 2018: Online Registration for December Exam to Begin From Tomorrow at icaiexam.icai.org

The link for the application forms will be activated from tomorrow, and the candidates are advised to finish the procedure soon to avoid last-minute hustle.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will begin the online registration for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) from tomorrow, October 4. Those who are interested in becoming a certified Chartered Accountant can apply for the exam on the official website; icaiexam.icai.org. As per the schedule, CA CPT will be conducted on December 16, 2018, in two sessions—morning from10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. ICAI will host the exam in 196 centres in India and designated centres overseas at Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu and Muscat. The candidates will have to make an application fee; for Indians, it is Rs. 1,000, Kathmandu (Nepal) aspirants will have to pay Rs. 1,700 and Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai and Muscat are 300 dollars (above Rs. 21,000). In case if the candidates missed the deadline for submitting the application form, they can submit till November 1, but with additional fee charges. CA CPT is an objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQ) based exam which will consist of four sections with subjects—Fundamental of Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. “The aforesaid Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to students registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the Common Proficiency Course and fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions,” stated ICAI.

Before applying for CA CPT, the candidates must read the official notification as released by the conducting body in detail. The link for the application forms will be activated from tomorrow, and the candidates are advised to finish the procedure soon to avoid last-minute hustle. Those who clear the CA CPT, will appear in the next stage which is the CA Intermediate exam and the final stage being CA Final to become a certified Chartered Accountant.
