The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced the results for the recruitment examination of Probationary Officers (PO). After a lot of speculations, the scores have finally been published on the official website of IBPS; ibps.in. Those who have participated in the preliminary exams held on October 13, 14, 20 and 21 can finally check their results now which are available online. It must be noted that the results have been available and the status display would go live from late evening today. The candidates who have successfully cleared the exam should begin their preparations for the Mains which is scheduled to be conducted on November 18 at various centres. IBPS SO 2018 Recruitment Exam Notification: Online Applications for 1599 Job Vacancies to Begin From November 6. 

At the end of October, rumours were doing rounds on the internet and media outlets speculating the result announcement date. To put an end, an IBPS official told the Indian Express, “The results of Probationary Officer prelims examination will be released either on October 30 or 31.” IBPS conducted the national entrance preliminary examination to fill in 3,562 vacant PO posts in its participating banks.

What after IBPS PO Prelims?

Every year, above 20 lakh aspirants appear for the recruitment exam. Those who have cleared the preliminary examinations, will next appear for IBPS Mains 2018 which will be conducted on November 18. The Institute will now release the admit cards for the main exam. It must be noted that only those who have cleared the preliminary examination, are eligible to download the call letters for the next stage of the recruitment drive. IBPS PO Mains 2018 Exam Pattern

The Main exam for IBPS PO recruitment is a computer-based objective test divided into five sections. Candidates will get 3 hours to answer questions from Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, General Awareness (with special reference to banking), Computer Knowledge. You must be careful while answering the paper, as each wrong answer carries a 0.25 negative mark.

The participating banks for IBPS PO recruitment are Allahabad Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Syndicate Bank, Andhra Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of Baroda, Corporation Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, Dena Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, IDBI Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank and Vijaya Bank.
