Mumbai, July 31: The Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department (SESD) has announced the third merit list for the junior colleges in Mumbai. The much-awaited third merit list was announced on Tuesday at 11am. Students will compete for 99,735 seats across colleges in Mumbai for the round three of the admissions. Students can check the list on the education department’s official website mumbai.11thadmission.net.

Parents and students are, however, concerned as 58,283 vacant seats under the minority quota in linguistic minority colleges are still not a part of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). Students should note that as per the Revised Schedule, all admission based on the Third Merit List at the college level should be done from July 31 to August 02, 2018 up to 06:00 pm.

The Third List was supposed to be released on July 26, 2018 but the School Education Department Maharashtra had earlier postponed the release of the FYJC Admission 2018 Third Merit List in all six cities, including Mumbai MMR, Nashik, Pune, Amravati, Aurangabad and Nagpur, to July 31 following a court order.

A notification on the official website says, “Centralized round -3 result is live now. Last Date for Centralized round -3 admissions is 2nd August 6 PM. Students and Colleges are requested to make note of it. Students who cancel their admissions in centralising rounds will be considered directly after third online round.”

Here's how you can check your name on the third list:

1. Visit the official website mumbai.11thadmission.net

2. Click on the ‘FYJC merit list round 3′ link

3. A new page will open where a student is required to enter the registration number and other details

4. Your result will appear on the screen.

5. If required, download and take a print out

The 2nd List was released on Thursday, June 28, 2018, and reporting time was up to 05:00 pm. It must be noted that the 4th Merit List will be displayed on August 7. "The 4th Merit List will be displayed on August 07, 2018", the School Education and Sports Department Maharashtra said.

It must be noted that the admission process has been extended till the second week of August, giving colleges less time to complete the syllabus as the first unit tests are usually held by August-end or the start of September. The School Education Department had released the First Merit List of Bifocal Subjects (Round 1 Allocation) on June 21, 2018.
