The online application for University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) has commenced from March 6 for the examinations to be held in July 8, 2018. According to the information shared on their official website, the online applications will end on April 5, 2018. Candidates who are interested in Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor can visit the website cbsenet.nic.in. The notification further confirms that the payment for the application can be done by April 6, 2018. It is important for all the aspirants to note that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to use Aadhaar authentication for the applicants during the submission of application form for UGC NET, 2018.

Before beginning with the procedure, the candidates are recommended to read the detailed notification released by the authority. Here are the steps to apply for UGC NET 2018 exam:

1. Students are recommended to visit the official website cbsenet.nic.in.

2. The candidates must have the scanned images (passport size photograph and signature) in the required size.

3. After filling all the details for applying online for NET, the aspirants can select the option of payment for examination fee. The applicants can pay either by credit or debit card or through e-challan provided during the online filling of the application form. The payment can then be made corresponding to the e-challan at any of the Syndicate or Canara or ICICI Bank branches and complete the registration process.

4. Before summing up the application procedure, it is recommended to go through it in detail and cross check all the information.

It is further important to note that the mobile number and email address provided by the candidates will be used by CBSE for all the official communication. The application fee for general category students is Rs. 500 and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Schedule Tribe (ST) /Persons with disabilities (PwD) and Transgender categories are required to pay Rs. 250. From this year, the aspirants will have to appear for two papers instead of three. The first paper will be of 100 marks and will contain 50 objective type compulsory questions and the second paper will of 100 marks that will consists 100 objective type compulsory questions.
