CBSE Student Suffering from Cancer Scored 96% in Class 10th Exams, Adds to Inspirational Success Story

Nothing can come in the way to those who are determined to achieve their goals. When all the other students were busy in their exam preparation; Priyesh Tayal, a resident of Delhi was undergoing to chemotherapy. Priyesh was suffering from blood cancer. Despite of his health condition and fighting all odds; Priyesh was dedicated and continued his studies, scored a 96 percent in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). From ongoing check-ups and chemo, Priyesh did not lose hope and used to study lying in the hospital bed. His achievement adds to another inspirational success story.

In an interview with Zee News, Priyesh’s mother informed that the moment she heard that her son was suffering from blood cancer, she got very scared thinking of her son’s future. But his mother was strong minded and bravely faced the situation supporting her son who had to visit the hospital even during his board exams. The report reveals that in December 2017, when Priyesh was going through his pre-boards, he was suffering from high fever and blue spots was seen in his entire body. He was immediately taken to the doctor and after some tests, he was identified with blood cancer. Priyesh is undergoing the treatment since then.

Medical experts say that Leukaemia patients experiences a treatment for at least two and a half years. But it did not stop Priyesh from scoring a high percentage in his CBSE class 10 exams. The 16-year-old boy told in the same report that he is an IIT aspirant and wants to become an engineer in the future.

This year, CBSE underwent with many changes while conducting their board exams. A social media campaign was initiated when a 15-year-old CBSE class 10 student was diagnosed with blood cancer but was denied scribe facility by the board. Soon the campaign went viral and the government had to intervene to grant the special permission to the student. CBSE officials issued a notification ahead of examinations when sick or differently abled students are permitted to avail the scribe facility in special circumstances.

Last year, a CBSE student; Tushar Rishi from Ranchi who was the victim of cancer cleared his class 12th exams scoring 95 percent. There have been stirring achievements this year. Anushka Panda who topped class 10 exams in the differently abled category scored 489 marks out of 500. Again, in class 12 the son of a bus driver, Prince Kumar topped the CBSE exam in science stream scoring 97 percent. Their journey for them has been troublesome yet extremely inspirational.
