New Delhi, October 21: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline to apply for the 'Single Girl Child Scholarship' till October 31. Earlier, the government had fixed October 18 as the last date to apply for the scholarship programme. The education body has called upon the beneficiaries to apply before the new deadline. How to Apply For CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship?
To apply for the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship programme, applicants must visit the official website - cbse.nic.in. After landing on the home page, click on the 'Single Girl Child Scholarship' tab appearing on the right hand side.
Applicants are recommended to carefully fill the form before submitting them. Any kind of incomplete form will be not be entertained by the CBSE and will be straightaway rejected.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be the single girl child of the family, and must have scored an aggregate of 60 per cent or plus in the CBSE Class 10th examinations.
The applicant must have also studied from a CBSe affiliated school where the monthly tuition fees was not more than Rs 1,500 per month.
The scheme is aimed at encouraging single-girl child to pursue education upto Class 12th. By incentivising her +2 studies, the government aims at motivating the girls to enroll in higher educational institutes.
