CBSE Students Announce Protest at Jantar Mantar Against Re-examination
Class 12th students are calling for a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on March 29 at 10:00 am against the re-examination. Many students, teachers and parents have started online petitions urging CBSE to rethink about the decision. One of the of the petition, which gained massive response reads, “This is wrong and unjust towards the children who gave their best by burning the candle from both ends. We feel this retest will be futile and we are not willing to reappear. We wish the Board Council understands us on the already written paper.”
Current Scenario on CBSE Re-examination
CBSE in a complaint to Delhi Police says it received a fax on March 23 naming a person from Rajinder Nagar, Delhi behind the question paper leak. According to the complaint, the individual runs a coaching institute. The complaint was forwarded to the CBSE Regional Office Delhi on March 24 and they have shared a copy of the same to the WhatsApp number of inspector Shri Susheel Yadav. The recent report suggests that CBSE had a hint of the question paper leak before both the exams. This is raising questions whether the board should have acted before the examination got underway. The senior sources in the Ministry of Human Resource Development questioned if CBSE should have acted quickly and spared the students a re-test.
The Delhi crime branch is currently investigating the matter behind the CBSE paper leak. The Ministry has ordered an extensive enquiry and experts say that the responsibility will be fixed at all levels. The economics exam for Class XII was held on March 26 and the Math exam was conducted on Wednesday on March 28. The dates of the re-examination are to be shared within a week by the board on its official website.
