The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is up for some serious improvement this time. With revising the bylaws, the CBSE has introduced a new admission and affiliation process. And schools must be aware! After its strict instructions of keeping only 45 students in each classroom, the board has now warned the schools to display the admission fee; otherwise, they will lose its affiliation. According to a fresh notification released on the official website; cbse.nic.in, CBSE has made the regulations making it compulsory for schools to disclose fee structure and not put any hidden charges on parents.

Further, as per the revised bylaws, the application process has also been made simple. Now, the board has also reduced the paperwork considerably—from 14 to just two documents to be filled during the time of admission. The entire process will be online and integrated with instantaneous communication. The bylaws were formulated in 1988 and last amended in 2012. The Human Resource Development Minister, Prakash Javadekar announced that CBSE affiliations would be provided to schools based on their performances. CBSE Relaxes Passing Criteria for Class 10 Students! While addressing the media, Javadekar said, “There was a lot of duplicity of work. Earlier, once a school had the nod of the state government, the CBSE would reverify all the aspects already checked by the state government. This turned into a long-drawn process. Now the Board will not revisit any of the aspects already covered by the state government at the time of giving the school an NOC.”

At present, there are 20,700 schools affiliated with CBSE and every year; the board receives about 2000 to 2500 applications to open new schools. On submitting the two documents, the board stated that one would be examined by the head of district education administration validating all aspects including building safety, land ownership, etc. The second would be a self-affidavit where the schools would certify its adherence to fee norms, infrastructure norms and other related details.
