The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) should have released the exam schedule but instead, no update from their end has given rise to a tensed atmosphere. One expected CBSE to release the date sheet for Class 10th and 12th board exams 2018 in the first week of January. However, there is a delay in the announcement of the exams timetable, much to the disappointment of students, their parents and teachers across the country. Adding more to their worries is the relentless silence at CBSE’s end. The anxious students took to Twitter and expressed their dissatisfaction with the board of education’s conduct.
According to media reports, a CBSE spokesperson denied quoting an exact date for releasing the exam schedule and said that the date sheet will be ‘out soon’. As per a press release sent out by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) the date sheets were said to be withheld until the election results are declared.
Nevertheless, it is very odd that in the age of digitalization, the reputed board does not have a presence in social media to share significant information on time. However, the dejected students took to the micro-blogging platform to share their plight due to the delay in announcement of examinations’ schedule.
One of the students tweeted,
Another student questions if it would be released on Sunday, 7th January.
In the earlier reports, the CBSE experts have shared that the board examinations will likely commence in the month of March 2018 after the festival of Holi. The exams are expected to begin earlier than the usual dates. Students appearing the 10th and 12th examinations can download the respective date sheets from their official website, cbse.nic.in.
CBSE has already shared the exam schedule of NEET UG and JEE Main, the competitive entrance tests for candidates who want to pursue Engineering and Medical fields. Students could prepare accordingly if the date sheets of Class 10th and 12th are released by the board at this stage.
