CBSE Denies 'Leak' of Class 12th Accountancy Paper After Purported Copy of Exam Paper Gets Circulated on WhatsApp
The Education Minister in Delhi Manish Sisodia confirmed that the question paper which has been shared since March 14, matches the set-II of the CBSE paper. For Commerce stream students, this will likely be the second paper after Business Studies which was conducted on March 9.
New Delhi, Mar 15: Hours after reports claimed that the question paper of Class 12 Accountancy exam - scheduled to be conducted today by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) - has been leaked, the board issued a clarification calling the reports as misleading.
"There was no such paper leak," said the CBSE, appealing the students and media to beware of rumours.
According to reports, the Accountancy paper was leaked and circulated on a WhatsApp group whose most participants reside in New Delhi’s Rohini area.
Alleged copies of the Accountancy question paper were doing rounds on WhatsApp on Thursday morning. For Commerce stream students, this will likely be the second paper after Business Studies which was conducted on March 9.
Speaking about the confirmation of paper leak, a CBSE expert told the media, “It is impossible for a student to leak a board paper without being in connivance with some insider as Board papers are kept with utmost security and top officials and teachers are only aware of it.” CBSE was supposed to hold the Accountancy board exam on March 15.
Manish Sisodia tweeted about the incident and directed CBSE officials to investigate the matter.
CBSE earlier notified and directed the examination centres to ensure safe delivery of answer books to its headquarters as an authorized private school examiner was identified carrying the answer sheets of Class 12 of Chemistry openly in Delhi metro. The CBSE examination of class 12 will end on April 13. Reportedly, a total of 11,86,306 candidates have registered for class 12 annual examination this year.
