New Delhi, May 2: With the list of toppers announced for the class 12 board exam of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Union Minister and senior BJP leader Smriti Zubin Irani boasted her son's achievement who scored over 90 per cent. She also mentioned that her son scored 94 per cent in economics.
Announcing her son - Zohr - marks, the proud mom took to Twitter and wrote, "Ok saying it out loud— proud of my son Zohr..not only did he come back with a bronze medal from the World Kempo Championship also scored well in 12 th boards. Best of 4– 91% .. special yahoo for 94% in economics.. Maaf karna ,today I’m just a gloating Mom." According to the official CBSE website, 94,299 scored 90 per cent marks. The website states that 83.4 per cent candidates passed the class 12 board exam results 2019. Among the specially challenged category, Lavanya Balakrishnan secured the top positing scoring 489 marks.
Along with this, CBSE informed that 13 lakh students appeared for the exam and out of which 83.4 per cent candidates passed. Female candidates passing percentage was 88.70 while the male percentage was 79.4. Also, foreign schools passing percentage was 95.43 per cent and transgender candidates passing percentage was 83.3.
Data reveals that girls and transgenders have performed better as compared to boy candidates. Girls outperformed boys by 9 per cent. Candidates can check the scores online at the official website; cbse.nic.in. Karishma Arora and Hansika Shukla jointly secured the top position in CBSE class 12 exam. Both got 499 out of 500 marks.
