New Delhi, May 2: The CBSE on Thursday declared the result of class 12 examination 2019 on its official website - cbse.nic.in. Once again, girls have outperformed boys by nine percent. Two girls, Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora, emerged as joint toppers with a score of 499 out of 500 each. Not only girls, but transgender students also outshined boy by 3.9 percent. The overall pass percentage is 83.4.
While 88.70 percent of girls passed, 83.3 percent of transgender students also cleared the CBSE board exams. The pass percentage of specially-aided candidates stands at 90.25. The overall pass percentage of boys stands at 79.4 percent. Over 31 lakh candidates appeared for the Higher Secondary Examination (Class 12) this year. Last year, 11.06 lakh students appeared for the examination and the pass percentage was 83.01. Catch live updates on CBSE class 12 results here.
The CBSE conducted the exams for the academic session year 2018-19 in Feb-March 2019. Trivandrum emerged as the top-performing region with a pass percentage of 98.2. In the Chennai region, the pass percentage is 92.93, while 91.78 percent of students passed the exam in Delhi region.
