New Delhi, May 2: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday declared the result of class 12 examination 2019 on its official website - cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in. The CBSE conducted the Higher Secondary Examination (Class 12) for the academic session year 2018-19 in Feb-March 2019. According to the merit list, Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora secured first position obtaining 499 out of 500 marks. Catch live updates on CBSE class 12 results here.
Hansika Shukla is from Delhi Public School Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Karishma Arora is a student of SVM, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Gaurangi Chawla secured the second position with 498 marks. Over 31 lakh candidates appeared for the Class 12 exams this year and the pass percentage is 83.4. In 2018, of the 11.84 lakh students who had registered for the CBSE Class 12 exams, 11.06 lakh actually appeared for the examination. The pass percentage was 83.01. The top-performing region is Trivandrum with a pass percentage of 98.2. In Chennai region, the pass percentage is 92.93, while in Delhi region, 91.78 percent of students passed the exam. Overall, girls outperformed boys by 9 percent. While 88.70 percent of girls passed the exams, 83.3 percent of transgender students also cleared it. The overall pass percentage of boys for the CBSE Class 12 exams stands at 79.4 percent.
