CBSE Class 10th Exam Results 2018; Jaipur Boy Who Cannot Sit Scored 93.4%

Students will not stop making us proud and each of them inspire us in so many different ways. As the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced its class 10 and class 12 results; every day wonderful success stories are coming in the forefront. Ashmeet Bhatnagar wrote the class 10 exams standing and scored 93.4 percent marks. Yes, he stands and appeared the exam not as punishment but because he is suffering from a disease that confines him to sit.  This sixteen-year-old boy is forced to stand 12 hours every day because of stiff joints.

A Hindustan Times report reveals that Ashmeet has myositis ossificans which is caused by a single traumatic injury. His father Sumeet Bhatnagar, informed that at the age of one, when he was given DPT vaccine, a lump was formed for which he had to go through a surgery, but his hip got stiff. Later, the doctors identified him to be suffering from myositis ossificans. Bhatnagar was quoted as he says proudly, “Ashmeet may have a physical problem, but he is strong mentally. He loves playing cricket, badminton and chess despite the physical limitations and also has interest in photography.”

His health condition nowhere stops him to lead a regular life and his class teacher describes him to be friendly, obedient and studious. Ashmeet is a student of Ryan International School, Mansarovar, Jaipur and the authorities have made a special arrangement creating a table so that he can write standing during exams. Talking about his aspiration and career plans, Ashmeet informed in the same report that he will study commerce in class 11 and desires to become a government officer.

CBSE announced its class 10th exam results in the afternoon on May 29 and 86.70 percent have successfully cleared the exam this year. Prakhar Mittal of Delhi Public School, Gurgaon, Haryana has topped the board examination scoring 499 marks out of 500. Around 16.38 lakh students appeared for CBSE class X board exams which was conducted between March 5 to April 4 at various centres across the country.
