Bhubneshwar, February 11: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked the Odisha government to invoke Section 144 of CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) around examination centres during class 10 and 12 exams that would be held from February 15 to 4 April, reports The Pioneer. Section 144 prohibits the assembly of five or more people, holding meetings or carrying weapons.

Anita Karwal, CBSE Chairperson, has requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik led government to provide adequate security around the examination centres across Odisha. This is the first time that the CBSE urged the state government to impose Section 144 around exam centres in view of question paper leakage reported in 2018.

As many as 124 schools have been selected where CBSE exams for class 10 and 12 would be held. There would be no power cuts during the examination. Exams will be held from 10 am to 1:30 pm. Over 33 lakh students are set to appear for the two final examinations across the country.
