A day before the class 10th results announcement, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) reported that bags containing about 42,400 answer sheets went missing from SS Balika Inter School in Gopalganj. But the officials have confirmed that such mismanagement will not affect the results declaration schedule. However, a fresh date has been updated by BSEB on its official website which states that the matric exam results 2018 will be announced on June 26. Around 17.70 lakh students will be able to check their BSEB Madhyamik exam scores in the coming week.
Media reports suggested that the bundles which went missing had about 200 answer sheets. A Bihar Board official told The Indian Express, “The tabulation or evaluation has already been done and the BSEB is ready with the results, however, this lost of copies will affect in case students apply for re-checking of the answer sheets.” The students are hence recommended to stay calm as class 10 results will not be announced on its earlier scheduled date and that it has been postponed to the coming week. Meanwhile, school authorities have registered a complaint against the missing bundles of answer sheets and police are investigating on the matter.
No matter, how much the officials try and introduces stringent measures to curb any malpractices; the Bihar Board every year will be in the headlines for its mismanagement. In earlier reports, Bihar Education Minister, Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma informed that the board is being cautious this time so to avoid any embarrassing situations they have faced in the past years. With the loss of answer sheets and result postponement, lakh of students’ future is at stake. We really hope that such mess does not affect any candidates and they surpass the class 10 exams with flying colours.
