The Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) announced that the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2019 Exam scheduled to be held tomorrow, January 8, 2020, has been postponed. The ICAR NET 2019 January 8 exam will now be held on January 11, 2020. The remaining schedule, however, stands unchanged. The change in exam schedule has been in the wake of recent notice for a nation-wide strike (Bharat Bandh) on January 8, 2020, by various trade unions. Candidates appearing in the ICAR NET 2019 exam are urged to check the recent notification available at the official website of ASRB; asrb.org.in. With ICAR NET exam getting postponed, there are also speculations regarding JEE Main and UP TET. Both the examinations are likely to be rescheduled by the respective conducting body. However, no reports have been confirmed about cancellation or postponement of these exams due to Bharat Bandh. On December 31, ASRB had released a notice informing the candidates that the exam will be held as per the decided schedule. But because of the recent nation-wide strike, the concerned authorities decided to postpone the January 8, 2020 exam to January 11, 2020. It is important to note that the schedule for January 9 and January 10, 2020, will remain the same.
“Considering the concerns raised by Centre Supervisors, Directors and the Applicants/ Students, the board has reviewed the situation and it has been decided that the ICAR-NET-2019 Examination scheduled on 8th January, 2020 will now be held on 11th January, 2020 at the same time and venue,” reads the official notification. ICAR NET is a computer-based exam and will be conducted for 150 marks in total. It will be held at 32 exam centres, across the nation. To qualify the ICAR NET exam, a candidate will have to achieve a minimum of 74 percent. The passing mark for candidates belonging to OBC, SC/ ST/ Divyang categories is 67.50 percent and 60 percent, respectively.
