Srinagar, August 8: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday announced that all the educational institutions including government and private schools in Samba will remain open with effect from Friday. Also, the administration directed all Government employees who are working at divisional level, district level and those serving in civil secretariat Srinagar, to report back to their duties with immediate effect.
Making the announcement in the public interest, the Jammu and Kashmir administration said, as quoted by news agency ANI, "As per an order issued here today by the district administration Samba, all the educational institutions including government and private schools shall re-open with effect from 9th of August 2019, to function as usual." It added, "As per directions issued by Chief Secretary Jammu and Kashmir, all Government employees who are working at divisional level, district level and those serving in civil secretariat Srinagar, to report back to their duties with immediate effect."
Earlier, with tension rising in Jammu and Kashmir, post-Modi government's decision to abrogate special provision from the state and bifurcate it into two Union territories - Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh - University of Jammu informed on Wednesday that the varsity will remain closed on Thursday and all the examinations have been postponed.
