Srinagar, August 7: Days after reports arrived that Kashmir University examinations have been postponed indefinitely due to the restrictions imposed in the valley by Modi government, University of Jammu informed on Wednesday that the varsity will remain closed on Thursday and all the examinations have been postponed.

Adding more information, University of Jammu Spokesperson Vinay Thusoo said, as quoted by news agency ANI, "University shall remain closed on 8th August 2019. All Under Graduate and Post Graduate examinations to be held on 8th August, 2019 stand postponed. The new schedule for examinations shall be notified separately." Earlier, reports arrived that not only the Kashmir University examinations, but exam in other universities of the Valley - Islamic and Central - have been postponed too. This action can be viewed as a precautionary measure taken by the university authorities.

However, reports are also arriving that Modi government might uplift partial restrictions from Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. While no confirmed reports have arrived as of yet.
