Drunk Flyer on Jet Airways Mumbai-Kolkata Flight Offloaded For Unruly Behaviour
Post the commotion, the passenger was deplaned, and the flight took off with a delay of 40-minutes.
Mumbai, April 25: A drunk passenger was deboarded from a Jet Airways flight at Mumbai airport early on Tuesday morning after he allegedly engaged in a verbal spat with the crew and appeared to be in no condition to fly. The incident took place on Jet Airways’ Mumbai-Kolkata flight 9W 484 around 2 am on Tuesday.
According to a Times of India report, it is believed that he might have had a drink too many after his security check-in. The report quotes a source, “The aircraft (VT-JBC) pushed back at 2.11am. The passenger allegedly got into an argument with the crew during pre-takeoff safety demonstration. The crew tried their best to calm him down, but when that did not happen, they informed the captain who then decided to taxi back to the bay.”
Post the commotion, the passenger was deplaned, and the flight took off with a delay of 40-minutes. The drunk passenger was taken to the hospital and was administered first-aid. Reportedly, several Indian airlines had written to aviation authorities, requesting them to restrict passengers’ access to liquor at departure terminals to check increasing incidents of unruly behaviour by tipsy flyers.
