Gorakhpur, September 24: Dr Kafeel Khan has been arrested again and this time for an alleged fraud case. According to an ANI update, the arrest was made by a team led by SP Vinay Singh & CO Ravi Kumar Rai. As per an Indian Express report, a day after suspended paediatrician of BRD Medical College Hospital Khan was arrested for allegedly creating nuisance at the district hospital in Bahraich and later granted bail. Gorakhpur police on Sunday arrested him and his brother for allegedly opening a bank account in a nationalised bank using fake documents. Reportedly, a local resident Mudassar Alam filed an FIR at Cantonment police station alleging that Adeel and his associate, Mohammad Faizan, opened a bank account in Faizan’s name using his photograph.

The embattled doctor's brother, Adeel Khan, has refuted the police's claim, alleging that Dr Kafeel was arrested as he was scheduled to address the press today with incrementing information related to the death of 63 children within a span of four days at the Gorakhpur-based BRD Medical College last year.

Dr Kafeel, who was the head of the encephalitis ward at BRD Medical College, was charged among the nine key accused by the UP police in the case involving the death of toddlers.
