Mumbai, June 14: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) was offering a discount on petrol and diesel at different petrol pumps across the state today to mark the birthday of MNS party supremo Raj Thackeray. As a result, a bee-line of two-wheelers was seen at these petrol pumps. A Twitter user also shared a video of a Mumbai petrol pump which saw a huge crowd of motorists to avail the discount on fuel early on Thursday morning.
MNS in its unique way to protest against the soaring price of fuel across India had decided to provide a discount of Rs 4 up to Rs 9 at selected petrol pumps in Maharashtra. The party in its clarification earlier also stated that the discounted amount will be paid by the party to the petrol pump owners.
MNS party spokesperson Sandeep Deshpande earlier tweeted about the discount offer in Marathi and mentioned that the offer would be available as a gift to the riders who are currently facing the pinch due to high fuel prices. According to reports, the drive had been planned not just to oppose the rising fuel price, but also to woo people, especially youngsters.

Furthermore, at selected petrol pumps the party also stationed their partymen who maintained a record regarding how many availed the discount. The offer was provided from morning 8 am till afternoon which saw a huge response in just sometimes.
