Delhi Weather Update: IMD & Skymet Predict National Capital To Receive Monsoon Rains From June 29

The recent IMD prediction also says June 29 as the normal date for the onset of monsoon in Delhi.

New Delhi, June 27: It comes as a huge respite to people in New Delhi as they welcomed light drizzles and shower in the city. This brings a great relief for people in the national capital, who were reeling under heat-wave like conditions. Overnight rainfall of 0.5 mm was recorded in Lodhi Road area. According to weather agencies, both India Meteorological Department (IMD) as well as private weather forecasting agency Skymet, had predicted that Delhi will see on-time arrival of monsoon.

As per Skymet's prediction monsoon will arrive anytime after June 29, and, pre-monsoon showers to hit the national capital from June 25.The recent IMD prediction also says June 29 as the normal date for the onset of monsoon in Delhi.

According to an ANI report, "June 29 is normal date for onset of monsoon in Delhi. Currently it's progressing in West Bengal, Odisha & Bihar. Till 30 June monsoon will cover all of India except Kutch. We're expecting serious thunderstorm activity prior to monsoon in north west India, predicts, India Meteorological Dept.

 

According to reports, The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershower in the next three days. The maximum temperature will hover between 32 to 33 degrees Celsius from Wednesday to Friday.
