New Delhi, Sep 2: Water supply in several parts of central and south Delhi remained disrupted fourth consecutive day on Sunday. The Delhi Jal Board started some maintenance work on Thursday and said water supply would be hit till Friday. However, residents of central and south Delhi complained of insufficient water supply on Saturday and Sunday as well.
Water supply was hit in Greater Kailash, Sarai Kale Khan, Dakshinpuri, Okhla, Vasant Kunj, Lajpat Nagar and areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council, following which twitterati expressed their anguish at the Aam Aadmi Party government in the national capital that is responsible for water supply. People started tagging Delhi Jal Board's twitter handle asking for an answer.
“There will be an 18-hour shutdown of the South Delhi main line, that emerges from Sonia Vihar water treatment plant,” a statement by DJB on Wednesday said. However, it seems that the issues has not be resolved yet and water supply continued to be disrupted in central and South Delhi. Jal Board officials said water tankers would be available, however, many people called it a false claim.
"@ArvindKejriwal @DelhiJalBoard would you please inform when will you supply water. It's been three days not a drop of water in C2 Vasant Kunj and Delhi Jal board not even answering the complaint nos. Can you imagine how distressed is the Public here. What is administration doing?" a Delhi resident tweeted.
