New Delhi, June 3:  A school boy in Delhi was apprehended for creating fake profile of ten of his female classmates on dating applications. The accused used to post their photos and phone numbers on the dating apps.

The case came to light after the father of one of the victims registered a complaint at the Anand Vihar police station. Using the cyber cell's aide, the police cracked down the boy at his residence through his IP address.

On being interrogated in presence of the counsellors, the 15-year-old admitted to the crime. The boy told the police personnel that he wanted to exact revenge against the ten girls as they had complained to the teachers about his behaviour. The detainee has been sent to juvenile home, a senior police official said.

Narrating the ordeal faced by the girls, the official said one of the victims received as much as 800 calls in a day, along with obscene messages via messaging applications on her cell phone.

The officer further said that the accused downloaded the photos of the girls from their social media handles and uploaded them on the dating apps.
