Delhi Pollution: Air Quality Index at Lodhi Road Remains Under 'Poor' Levels, Thick Haze Engulfs City

New Delhi, November 15: The air quality in Delhi shows no sign of improvement, thus causing extreme inconvenience to people living there. According to an ANI update, the Air Quality Index (AQI), at Lodhi Road is at PM 10 level at 202 and PM 2.5 level at 209, both in 'Poor' category. In several areas, thick haze has engulfed the city, with AQI under severe category in several areas. Delhi Air Quality Deteriorates A Day After Diwali, Air Pollution at 'Hazardous' Level.

An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered “good”, 51 and 100 “satisfactory”, 101 and 200 “moderate”, 201 and 300 “poor”, 301 and 400 “very poor”, and 401 and 500 “severe”.

The air quality severely deteriorated a day after Diwali as people defied the Supreme Court's order to burst crackers. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data, PM2.5 and PM10 were at 500 in Lodhi Road area. The ban on entry of heavy vehicles was imposed from November 8 till November 11 but was later extended by a day by the Supreme Court-appointed agency on the recommendations of a Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB)-led task force, which reviews the national capital's air quality.
