Delhi Budget 2018: 1.2 Lakh CCTV Cameras in Government Schools & Other Sops Introduced by Aam Aadmi Party

Rs 15 crore has been allocated to Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights to evaluate and rank government schools.

22 March, Mumbai: The Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has presented the first 'green Budget' by Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government today. The Budget focuses on reducing pollution levels in the National Capital by proposing various measures, including concession in registration of CNG cars. The Budget also mentions the creation of a  Road Safety Policy draft and a road safety fund to be created soon. In order to help the commuters, the Delhi Government will also roll-out 1000 fully electric buses in Delhi and also 1000 DTC Standard size buses to be added.

Looking at the increase in crime that is happening in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party government has allocated Rs 175 crore to install 1.2 lakh CCTV cameras in government schools. The AAP government allocated Rs 6,729 crore for the health sector in its budget for 2018-19 fiscal presented in the Delhi Assembly and announced the launch of a ‘health insurance for all’ scheme.

26 percent of Budget is allocated for education, total amount Rs. 13,997 Crore. Education got around 25 percent of total Budget for the third consecutive year. Government also announced their plans to introduce a new cirriculum- Happiness Cirriculum in government schools.

 

Some of the other measure announced were- Rs 35 crore allocation for two schemes to promote sportsperson in Delhi. Rs 15 crore has been allocated to Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights to evaluate and rank government schools. It further announced that the construction of an elevated road parallel to Yamuna between Signature Bridge and Kalindi Kunj will start this year.
